For the last 10 years, the film school in the Jesuits Cultural Centre has been the only place in Alexandria that teaches filmmaking. The program is a long term workshop that usually lasts from 1 to 2 years. The program accepts from 8 to 12 students each workshop and focuses mainly on independent and low-budget filmmaking. By the end of each workshop, each student makes a short that s/he directs and all the rest of the students work as the main crew.
In 2014, Rufy’s Films and Fig Leaf Studios co-produced the 8 final short film projects for the students of the 5th workshop, that were completed in 2015.
